Scott is a fellow Toronto entrepreneur and used to live just down the hall from me! He’s in sunny California now, but for a few months I picked his brain (we call it friendship!) whenever I could.
So when I tell you this guy is a master, you should trust me. I was so glad he was able to make the time to sit down with me and talk about marketing, being a Canadian entrepreneur, social media and so much more.

Marketing Hack: Getting Your Content In Front of People
When Scott was first starting out he had an internet marketing company which he grew to $400,000/month very quickly.
He learned a lot from this initial company, especially about content and debt.

Scott had been creating tons of great content while he was running his digital marketing company. He was generating a ton of leads and had solid open rates on his emails – but he wanted more people to see what he was doing.
That’s when he had an epiphany…
Scott realized we were all living in these bubbles online, where we’re being figured out so businesses can run better retargeting ads at their customers.
He realized that if he could infiltrate those groups of customers, he could hack their attention. And he did, by sending the same content to those bubbles multiple times with different angles.
That’s how he created his ROI Method – Relevancy, Omnipresence, Intimacy – which is what his business now is based on.
Scott Oldford’s ROI Method
For a variety of reasons he describes during the interview, Scott ended up blowing up his digital marketing business. As an entrepreneur that was hard, but it’s what ultimately lead him to his ROI Method breakthrough.
The “ROI Method” focuses on three things to achieve results:
If you achieve those three things in your marketing, it increases human connection. Increasing human connection overpowers the need for perfection and helps marketers learn the fundamentals of human psychology.
Once you know the fundamentals you see how many marketers play the short game and try to sell a quick fix… but he’s not interested in that kind of marketing.
Scott plays the long game and only wants to work with successful entrepreneurs who believe the same thing.
